Interlibrary Services

To request an item through interlibrary loan (ILL), you must first create an ILLiad account. ILLiad is name of the interlibrary loan management system used by Watson Library.
This service is for Metropolitan Museum of Art staff and volunteers only.

Please read through our Frequently Asked Questions page, which is Met-specific and will likely answer many questions you have about ILLiad and Watson Library's Interlibrary Services.

When registering, you will be asked to create a username and password. Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive. Please make note of the username and password you choose, because this is how you will access your ILLiad account in the future. Username Although you may use any username and password you wish, we strongly recommend you use your 6-letter MMA network login ID as your username. This will not only be easy for you to remember, it also helps ILL staff assist you better. Your MMA network login consists of the first five letters of your last name and the first letter of your first name (so if your name is Frida Kahlo your MMA network login ID would be kahlof). Password Your password can be anything you wish - it does not need to match your MMA network login password. Passwords are encrypted and will not be accessible to anyone, including Interlibrary Services staff. If you forget your password you can reset it by clicking on the "Forgot Password" link on the ILL login page.
